For hundreds of years, Aloe Vera gel has been used for its instant cooling effect. Whether on insect bites, sunburn or bedsores, Aloe Vera gel, even pure, is always effective. It instantly soothes heat and pain and improves healing with repeated use. So it is not surprising that it is widely used in modern cosmetic products for its cell-regenerating power and to soothe inflammation. Indeed, Aloe vera contains Campesterol and bradykinin. The first reduces the signs of inflammation (redness, heat, pain, swelling), the second acts on microcirculation to activate it.

Indeed, Aloe Vera purifies and cleanses the skin while fighting dehydration and inflammation. Enzymes are large molecules that activate chemical reactions. Here these enzymes specialize in the destruction of proteins (hence their name: “proteo” for proteins, “-lytic” for breaking). Yet a large part of the components of our cells are proteins. Normally, cells resist this type of enzyme thanks to their defense mechanism, but the cells on the outermost layer of our epidermis are dead cells. They therefore no longer have any activity or role in keeping our skin healthy, apart from that of a protective barrier through the accumulation of layers of dead cells. By facilitating the removal of the skin's superficial dead cells, Aloe Vera gel thus stimulates the growth of new cells and so maintains optimal cell renewal. It is notably thanks to the action of these enzymes that it plays a role in healing.
