Where did the inspiration for this product come from?

We saw that The Night Elixir Face Oil was hugely popular, and personally, I love this product. The ritual of applying a treatment in the evening — which, beyond its benefits, brings a “cocooning” feel — made me discover the pleasure of using this kind of product, and our customers did too. Developing a cream version therefore felt like an obvious next step. A product to use alongside the oil version, or instead of it, for those who prefer a cream texture, or for people whose skin is less dry and for whom one of the two formulas is enough.

What makes this night cream so unique?

I think the first thing that makes this cream unique is how pleasant it is to use, with an exceptional sensory feel. All the more so for a certified organic product, since organic certification imposes far more constraints. Then there are, of course, the actives in the formula — the list is long, and I am very proud of it: hyaluronic acid, resveratrol, collagen, but also a blend of precious oils that completes the product's action, with argan oil, coconut oil and hazelnut oil.

Who is this product for?

The Night Elixir Face Cream was designed for all skin types. Dry skin always needs nourishment, so a lipid-rich formula suits it perfectly. And contrary to popular belief, a slightly richer night treatment is not incompatible with combination to oily skin — quite the opposite. Using a richer product helps calm the skin and thus balance sebum production. On waking, skin is nourished and soothed, and a light moisturizer is all you need. Designed for all skin types and tones, The Night Elixir Face Cream is rich in anti-aging ingredients but is not reserved for more mature skin. On the contrary, it is a beautiful product for people who want to start preventing wrinkles. It suits women and men alike — we make no distinction! Why use the cream rather than the oil?

At HUYGENS, we design our serums and creams to complement each other. You can start by applying the serum, The Night Elixir Face Oil, followed by The Night Elixir Face Cream. Unlike a cream, which naturally contains some water, the serum brings more lipids to the skin. So there is real value in using these two products together. For combination to oily skin, I recommend choosing the formula according to your texture preference: oil or cream. You can of course also mix things up — “tonight the oil, tomorrow the cream.” In any case, that is what I do! I love the cream for its cocooning texture and the oil for its soothing scent. Both products offer outstanding sensoriality and effectiveness.

The scent is particularly captivating — what can you tell us about it?

We started from the fragrance of The Night Elixir Face Oil, which is much loved for its captivating scent. So we tried to do even better! You will find notes of coconut and lavender, perfect for calming the mind in the evening and sleeping better. Beyond all its qualities for the skin, rosewood extract reveals a floral scent, soft and quite fresh. Not to be confused with the rose flower — they are two very different ingredients. The magic of this fragrance lies in the combination of these three ingredients. Lavender essential oil and rosewood essential oil are also known for their anti-aging and regenerating properties. This blend of essential oils brings together effectiveness and sensoriality.
