Tea Tree Essential Oil

It is the aromatic extract of the plant melaleuca alternifolia, also known as “tea tree”, obtained from the complete distillation of the plant. The Plant

The name “tea tree” is said to have been given to the shrub in 1770 by Captain James Cook during his voyage around the world. Indeed, when he reached the east coast of Australia, he saw sailors preparing tea with the leaves of a tree from the Myrtaceae family. Hence the name “tea tree”.
